History of malachite
It is one of the oldest gems used by different civilizations for its healing and transformative properties. Prominent personalities of Egypt preferred it for its exceptional power: archaeological finds of pharaohs' clothing almost always include inlays of Malachite. It is said that it was one of the main energy stones for the upper classes of Egypt. It served as a basic force to help them channel greater energies to the planet. Pharaohs used to cover the inside of their headdresses with Malachite and believed that it would help them to rule wisely. Malachite was also powdered and used to improve eyesight, inner vision; and it was also used in cosmetics.
Properties of malachite
Malachite is a powerful stone and should only be used in its polished form and for external use as it is toxic, very poisonous. Its effects are direct and immediate and it should only be worked with under the guidance of an expert. Its dust should not be breathed in, nor should it be licked, nor should elixir be prepared from this stone.
It clarifies and activates all the chakras and can effectively stimulate the heart and throat chakras. It is an excellent stone for bringing out all repressed emotions, recognizing them and releasing them. It is especially helpful in helping us see what we do not want to see.
It releases inhibitions and helps us express what we feel, while developing empathy towards others by making us see how we would feel if we were in their place. It relieves shyness and is very useful for healing psychosexual problems, especially when traumatic experiences from past lives have to be experienced. It favors the process of rebirth.
